Want to try the Giant Swing? Read below for some extra information
How many people can go on the swing ?
You can choose to experience the ultimate free-fall either by
yourself or with a friend. If you choose to do a tandem swing you
may require ear-plugs though - this is a definite screamer!
Are there any restrictions?
Yes - to swing at Gravity Canyon you must be at least 10
years old and weigh a minimum of 45 kg. If you are under 16
years you also require parental consent. Our maximum weight (for
either a solo or tandem swing) is 180kg.
There are some medical conditions that may stop you
from completing our Swing. If you are concerned, please give
us a call, or consult your doctor.
Is it the biggest in NZ ?
Mokai Gravity Canyon has the biggest bridge swing and
biggest tandem swing in NZ!
Where is the Swing seat?
The Giant Swing apparatus itself does not have a swing seat
attached. Instead, the design of your full body harness,
including a built in seat plate, allows you to remain in a seated
position throughout the swing. Alternatively, you can swing in a
lay-back style or completely upside down!
How long has the Swing been operating?
The Swing has been open since January 2007 - and has been
scaring customers silly ever since! So why don't you come and try
it out - see if you can get the record for the loudest scream
yet!
How do I get back ?
Once you have swung back and forth along through the
canyon couple of times (to let you catch your breath and get
your stomach back in it's rightful place), we bring you back to the
take-off platform using a specially designed retrieval system. You
are then able to head back into the cafe to watch yourself on the
big screen!
How much does it cost?

What if I decide not to ride?
If you have purchased your Swing ticket and decide not
to ride, it is unfortunately not refundable nor transferable.
Our experienced swing crew have seen and heard it all, and
are very good at persuading people into doing things they don't
think they can! Don't be afraid to ask for help if you think you
need it!
How long is the free-fall?
Our swing is 80m above the river bed, creating the ultimate
free-fall of 50m - around 3 seconds of pure adrenalin filled
speed!
